Life Drawings Krakow 2010

These are a few A1 sized life drawings that I have produced in my life classes. My professor does not speak much English but has tried to help with my drawing through gesturing and the bit of English she knows. This being the case I think my progress was stinted at first, but by the last drawing on this page I can notice a significant improvement in the way I have looked and composed a drawing from life. I'm starting to take into consideration a more stark approach to the contrast of the shadows and shapes of the human form, and my drawing line has become less sketchy, and essentially, significantly more confident.

It has highlighted to me the importance of life drawing, or a period of sustained observational drawing in my practice as my work is essentially an exploration and manipulation of drawing and the essence of the line. Purely focussing on a object, place or person allows me to investigate the notion of my own drawing style.
